Furthermore, the Irvine, California-based IT company also announced an investigation, with assistance from cybersecurity experts, and notified law enforcement. This was a sign of a global outage that greatly impacted its websites and ongoing operations on a massive scale.<\/p>\n

What Got Affected by Ransomware?<\/h2>\n

When discussing the recent attack\u2019s impact on the company\u2019s global operations, including internal tools, order placement issues, and unavailable customer support across different regions.<\/p>\n

When visitors on Ingram\u2019s Micro website receive the message saying, “Maintenance,\u201d or that we\u2019re currently experiencing technical difficulties, as shown below.<\/p>\n

According to a recent report<\/a><\/span>, the culprit of the ransomware attack has been identified as SafePay ransomware. Employees have found ransom notes on their devices that would have stolen information.<\/p>\n

Some prime sources have claimed to Bleeping Computer that the bad actors have attacked Ingram Micro through its Global VPN platform access, which was immediately requested to be stopped by employees. AI-powered Xvantage and Impulse platforms are impacted, while Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint remain operational. The Xvantage platform was introduced in 2022 and utilizes AI for order management, real-time tracking, and more.<\/p>\n

The company, moreover, is remaining silent regarding the cause of the outage, and employees are also not completely aware of the situation, as shared by some Ingram Micro customers.<\/p>\n

CEO of an SP500 company commented regarding the attack, \u201cThis is our worst nightmare come true, wherein we have reached out to Ingram, however, we have not heard anything back about the outage. If we cannot place orders or get quotes it will certainly stop our business.\u201d This is certainly an alarming point!<\/p>\n

Ingram Micro<\/span><\/a> is currently working on restoring the affected systems. Furthermore, the company apologizes for the disruptions it has caused to its customers, partners, vendors, and others.<\/p>\n
